Ethiopia lunaches the bid for the 2nd new telecom service provider

The Ethiopian Telecommunications Authority launched the Request For Qualifications (RFQ) for the second new nationwide fully service telecommunications license (License B).

ETA announced it invites world-class telecommunications operators to come forward and take part in this exciting opportunity to operate within Ethiopia’s rapidly growing economy.

According to the ETA press release there are several positive developments occurring in the Ethiopian telecommunications sector since the beginning of the liberalization process including a strong telecommunications sector legal and regulatory framework, a legal framework to provide Mobile Financial Services, and availability of additional spectrum.

All details and instructions pertaining to the submission of responses, including the qualification criteria, are described within the RFQ.
