Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew announced in a statement that the airline’s revenue has increased by 20 percent compared to last year.

In the fiscal year, 13.7 million passengers and 723 thousand tons of cargo were transported.

Meanwhile the Ethiopian Airlines has achieved outstanding performance in the fiscal year.

It is mentioned that in the financial year, the airline has opened 7 new destinations in addition to the flights it has restarted after the Covid pandemic.

Ato Mesfin stated that by purchasing 12 new planes, the airlines increased the total number of planes to more than 140.

Ethiopian Airlines has restarted its flights to Mekele and Shire cities, which had been suspended for two years due to the war in the north, a few months ago.

The airline has started new flights abroad in America, Europe and other parts of the world.

Ethiopian Air Force Chief Lieutenant General Yilma Merdasa has been appointed as the chairman of the management board of the airline this week, replacing Girma Wake, who was a board member of Ethiopian Airlines.
